Terms and Conditions for Purchases
This Agreement applies to your purchases of Product(s) from this Website. The parties to this Agreement are: (1) the person who makes the purchase, referred to throughout the Agreement as “you” or “your”, and (2) our company, Gulf Coast Axolotls. Gulf Coast Axolotls is referred to in this Agreement as the “Company”, “we”, and “us”.
We may make changes to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, but the latest version will always appear on this page. Any changes to this Agreement will apply to all new orders placed after the change is published on the Website. You should check this Agreement before each order you place, in case it has changed since your last visit.
In this Agreement, the following capitalized words have these specific meanings.
‘Product’ means merchandise available for sale on the Website and does not apply to live Axolotls.
‘Website’ means Gulf Coast Axolotls Website.
Orders of Product(s) are subject to availability. When you place an order, we will confirm it by email, but the order will only become legally binding on us when we send you an email confirming dispatch of the Product(s). If we cannot fulfill your order for any reason, we will notify you as soon as possible.
We try to ensure that product details displayed on the Website are correct and up-to-date. However, any error or omission in any information on the Website, or in any other communication or document issued by us, may be corrected without any liability on our part. You will then be given the option of re-confirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If you have already paid for the Product(s) at the erroneous price, you will receive a full refund if you decide to cancel.
Images of products on the Website are intended as a guide and the actual product may differ slightly in some respects due to handmade nature. All weights and dimensions given are approximate.
Before clicking the ‘Confirm Order’ button, you should check that your order summary is correct. You should print or retain your email confirmation in case you need to contact us about your order.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
The prices shown do not include shipping or sales tax, which will be added to your total order price.
Orders must be paid for immediately by credit or debit card, or by PayPal. If we cannot accept your order for any reason, we will process a full refund within seven days.
Live Axolotl Orders: Guarantee and Delivery
We will refund you 100% of the order cost after an order has been placed as long as the order has not been shipped. There are NO refunds on orders that have already been shipped out.
We offer a live on arrival guarantee on orders shipped with Priority Shipping or Overnight Express Shipping.
You must inform us in writing within an hour of delivery if the Axolotl(s) did not survive the trip (DOA) or if there are any issues with your order. Pictures documenting the condition of the shipment, including pictures of the Axolotl(s) and shipping label, are required within 1 hour of delivery to be qualified for a refund or replacement. The first option is having us ship you a replacement Axolotl, although shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. If the replacement animal is DOA, we would then refund your purchase price (excluding the shipping costs) via PayPal or credit card, depending on your method of payment. Keep in mind, we are very reasonable people and understand that every situation is different. We will work with you to find the best solution. The second option in the case of a DOA animal is an immediate refund, less the shipping cost.
We deeply value your satisfaction.
1.) If temperatures at the delivery zip code dip below 38F or above 95F, the live arrival guarantee and extended guarantee are both completely voided for all animals. Shipping live animals is a shared risk between the shipper and the customer--please research your local temperatures prior to ordering.
2.) If you, or an authorized representative are not present for a delivery attempt (usually in the morning), the live arrival guarantee is null and void. If it was agreed upon that the Axolotl(s) would be held at the carrier's facility, the package(s) must be picked-up within eight hours of arrival at the said facility.
3.) If you inadvertently give us a delivery address that is not valid, the live arrival guarantee is voided.
4.) If you do not contact us within the allotted time of delivery or pick-up with DOA and shipping label photographs, the live arrival guarantee is voided.
5.) We are not responsible for carrier delays, but will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. DOA is only valid for FEDEX shipments. USPS are determined on a case by case basis.
We are unable to ship live Axolotls to states in the US where it is illegal to own or import axolotls. These states include: New Jersey, California, New Mexico, Maine, and Virginia.
We will confirm that a valid permit is required to purchase a live axolotl(s) if you reside in these states: Hawaii, Maine.
In the event that anything happens to the axolotl after we have already fulfilled our on arrival guarantee policy for the order, there will be no refunds. Please research ahead and plan to give the proper care for your new pet! We are always willing to help with information on properly caring for your Axolotl. Contact us at if you have any questions.
We will endeavor to deliver the Product(s) as soon as possible after confirmation of your order. However, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage caused by any delay in delivering the Product(s). We will try to keep you informed in the event of any delay.
Delivery will be to the address specified by you when ordering.
As soon as the Product(s) are delivered to you, you become the owner of those Product(s) and the risk will be passed to you. This means that you will be liable for any subsequent damage, loss or destruction to the Product(s).
Please note that we are unable to influence the delivery of any parcels once they have left our facility. Please ensure you have entered the correct delivery details prior to confirming your order. If we are unable to deliver due to wrong information being input at the order stage, you will still be charged for all original and additional re-delivery costs.
Should you feel that your order has become lost or was unable to be delivered to you, please contact us after 5 days. Please note that we will try our best to resolve this issue, but we may feel it is appropriate to refund your order after a second delivery attempt.
We do not ship live Axolotls outside of the US.

Lost or Damaged Goods:
We must be notified in writing within 10 days of receipt of goods about all damaged goods or shortages. Any notification later than this will result in a void claim.
We reserve the right to make amendments to our Terms and Conditions for Purchases at any given time.
